Born in Çelikhan, the sub-province of Adıyaman in 1979, Kağan Kaya schooled in Alanya.
He graduated from English Language Teaching Department at the Faculty of Education at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 2000.
He received his MA from the Department of English Language Teaching at Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education at Atatürk University in 2004.
He was awarded PhD degree with his thesis named ‘Family in Alan Ayckbourn Plays’ from the Department of English Language Teaching at Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education at Atatürk University in February, 2009. He taught English in Alanya and Erzurum from 2000 to 2010.
He became Assistant Professor at English Language and Literature Department at the Faculty of Science and Letters at Cumhuriyet University in 2010. From 2010 to 2012 he was the vice-head of the department at the Faculty of Letters at Cumhuriyet University.
He is currently the academic member of the same department and has been leading precisely English and American Drama courses. He published several academic essays and presented papers on Contemporary British Drama at the national and international conferences.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kağan Kaya is married and has a son and a daughter. He speaks English and French at advanced level and German at intermediate level.
